Old beaten books fill prison library shelves, entwining notes of antique pages and aged leather binding. Hints of amber & saffron rest upon a base of dry cedar, resins, musks & incense to complete the story of justice, discovery & contemplation.

One part inspired by pandemic induced lockdowns, one part inspired by the courageous Gloria Killian. This resilient woman was cruelly framed for murder, robbery & conspiracy and served almost 20 years in Prison after being sentenced to 32 years to life.

Gloria spent every day in the library acting as a jailhouse attorney for her fellow inmates, despite her pleas being rejected. After new evidence surfaced that finally proved her innocence, Gloria was freed in 2002.

The Prisoner is a part of the Moody Muse Collection by LDC. Embracing a stylish emoji twist, the series was created to celebrate the enigmatic personas of famous Muses throughout art history; elusive & provocative women who have inspired and motivated the creative process.
